The Weeknd Enlists Sax Icon Kenny G For Smooth Jazz 'In Your Eyes' Remix

The Weeknd is back with another “In Your Eyes” remix.

The R&B crooner has jazzed up his smash hit song with some added sauce from iconic saxophonist Kenny G, who breaks out his saxophone to add some fresh flavor to an already smooth jam. The 64-year-old legend opens the new edition, released Thursday night (October 15), with a haunting intro before returning mid-way through with a savory solo that melds perfectly with The Weeknd’s retro sound.

The collaboration shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the Canadian singer-songwriter previously enlisted Kenny G to perform “In Your Eyes” at the first-ever TIME100 primetime TV event on September 22.

This also isn’t the first time The Weeknd has experimented with remixing the After Hours record. As fans may recall, the pop star recruited Doja Cat for a flirty team-up of the track back in May.

The passionate track holds a special place in The Weeknd’s heart, and he detailed this much in an in-depth interview with Variety. "When you look deeper into the song, it’s more complex than it seems. It’s basically about two people who are in love with each other who are just f—ing each other over," he explained, likening the project to a beloved ‘80s track.

He added, "The first verse is from [one] perspective and the second is from the other perspective. It’s like the way people think the Police’s 'Every Breath You Take' is a love song, and it’s not at all ... This is deeper, but you wanna dance to it and make love to it. That’s the trick of it."

“In Your Eyes” served as the final single off his number-one album, After Hours, which landed in March.
