Miami-Dade Schools Votes In-Person School Won't Begin Before October 14th

Miami-Dade School Board members unanimously vote a staggered start to face-to-face schooling will not begin before October 14th but will be fully operational by October 21st.

Teachers will have a non-opt planning day on the 13th.

Medical expert approval will be needed before in-person classes resume.

Parents will be able to keep their children in virtual learning if they prefer.

Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho had proposed a staggered start beginning with PreK to first graders on September 30th.
