Closing Arguments Due Monday in Tampa's Oneal Murder Trial

TAMPA -- Closing arguments are expected as soon as this morning in the trial of a Hillsborough County man accused of killing his girlfriend, Kanyatta Barron, and their disabled daughter, and trying to kill his young son.

Ronnie Oneal of Riverview is defending himself in court, and called the case's lead detective Friday as a hostile witness. This line of questioning left legal observers confused.

"You said that I didn't kill Kenyatta Barron in self defense?", Oneal asked.

"I'm not going to say that...", the detective replied. "I arrested you for her murder."

Oneal's own son testified against him. He could receive the death penalty for the murders if convicted.
