Monoclonal antibody treatments have been credited with saving lives across Florida, but the federal government is slashing the number of doses that come to our state.

A spokesperson for Governor DeSantis told CBS 12 News that the state received just under 31,000 doses this week, which is half the amount needed to keep up with demand.

The Biden administration is allocating doses to states more evenly, after Florida and six other states recently accounted for 70 percent of the monoclonal antibody doses.

The governor has made access to the treatments a priority, opening more than 20 clinics where COVID-positive patients can go before they suffer any severe symptoms.
