Florida Power and Light is expected to get the green light next month to raise customers' bills by nearly $7 per month.

The utility company says it needs the additional $810 million to cover higher-than-expected natural gas costs.

It's believed Florida Public Service Commissioners will approve FPL staff recommendations on December 7th.

The new rates would go into effect in January.
